The eating kakis had planned to go to Teluk Bayu to try its famous mee udang. But it was not to be as Pak Tam’s closes on Thursday. We opted for Japanese cuisine instead and Vincent suggested Sushi Zento. The restaurant is just a few minutes’ drive from Penang International Airport.
Although we were early, the restaurant was already nearly full. Definitely a good sign as SZ is not located in a busy mall or a high density office area.
We ordered the deep-fried soft shell crab (crab kaarage), two types of tempura, aka momeji roll, deep fried salted egg baby shrimps (ko ebi kaarage), fried chicken and garlic rice. Verdict: Oishii!! (Delicious), worth a return visit.
We had ice cream for desserts, compliments of the restaurant. They have a few selections of ice cream like green tea, sesame, strawberry and chocolate. Good quality ice cream.
They also offer “cash vouchers” for next visits.
