Zheng Xian Ge Restaurant at Vantage Desiran Tanjung, Jalan Tanjung Tokong was highly recommended by our group member Arthur.
This steamboat restaurant promotes high-speed steaming of its dishes whereby the goodness and flavours of all the seafood that we order will “dissipate” into the porridge in the pot below. It is worth noting that they use no oil and that each dish is steamed for you by a waiter-in-waiting for about five to ten minutes.

The porridge had “absorbed” the “full essence” of our earlier seafood dishes. Healthy, Nutritious and Yummy! For starters, we had tasty char siew paos. An excellent choice for lunch!
The restaurant was posh and we were pleasantly surprised that the price was reasonable, taking into consideration the excellent service and special equipment provided.
The beautiful ambiance was ideal for our group’s raison d’etre: wonderful table talk. Thanks Raymond (from Guangzhou) for joining us at this get-together.Our seafood orders include thinly sliced sek pan (grouper), fresh tiger prawns, scallops, kappa, enoki and white mushrooms, special fish balls and floral crabs. There are also different vegetables and a variety of accompanying condiments. We thoroughly enjoyed the freshly-steamed porridge with slices of chicken meat.
