You can choose to have your own “private” booth or for a budget of over RM1,000 you will be given an exquisite dining room with a karaoke set at your disposal.
Our first dish was deep fried crispy hor fun with clams and prawns. An unusual presentation of hor fun, and definitely not to our liking. Lacking wok hei perhaps?
The Thai style chicken is tasty and well presented in a moon-gate plate. Quite a big plate too!
The braised abalone with rice and sautéed runner bean with mincemeat did not elicit much positive comments. The former dish is basically a piece of braised abalone atop plain rice with some “abalone gravy”.
Next, the Special Coke Pork Knuckle came in a lovely “basket plate”, looking very inviting! Unfortunately, this dish did not go well with everybody! The overpowering coke (coca cola?) didn’t do justice to the dish by giving it a funny sour-ish taste. A disappointment.
The signature homemade bean curd was just okay.
When we received the bill, we concluded that the price was quite reasonable, considering the plush furniture and posh ambience.
